Do You Remember Stephanie Bidmead - KHS 1940-47?
After leaving school Stephanie joined the Midland Theatre Company at Coventry, and afterwards acted in several
repertory companies.
In 1956 she went to Stratford upon Avon and stayed there for 4 seasons. In addition to stage work, she appeared
in a number of TV productions, notably Dr Who, Little Women - in which she played 'Marmie', The Family at War and Jane Eyre.
In 1963 she played Duchess of Gloucester in Richard II at Ludlow Festival.
Sad to say, Stephanie died in 1974 at the young age of 45, leaving two young sons.
